#3 Alex Hernandez is a deaf student.
Alex Hernandez has been deaf since he was one years old.
Due to his implant and scars he has had to endure bullying his whole life.
However, one traumatic incident at Burke High School has the whole community outraged.
During school hours he noticed his backpack with everything in it including his tablet had been taken.
#2 Okay to bully?
"Those students think it's OK to bully a deaf student, but it's not. It's not OK to bully someone who is disabled, deaf or hard of hearing," Hernandez said. "Or anyone for that matter."
The image of the boy's backpack soon went viral as soon as it was posted online, with people all over the world upset and outraged.
Other people hard of hearing set up a GoFundMe page to get him new school supplies.
"I wanted to thank all of my friends and those who wrote me for supporting me. I am very happy. It made me feel like I am not alone,"says Hernandez. "They said [they] were here supporting me and they know how it feels like to be deaf. So I'm very happy."
But all's not well....
#1 Tough Decision
Hernandez and his mom have made a difficult decision. They decided it was best that Hernandez transfer to Ralston High School.
He no longer felt safe at this school. Some of the kids there were cruel.
I hope they find whoever did this and expel them.
"I have friends who are hard of hearing that go there and they say it's good. They get a lot of support and they don't get bullied,"Hernandez said of his new school.
"Today was my kid - tomorrow will be somebody else's," his mother said.
