The commercial was made by a German company named Edeka. The video starts off with an old man waiting for his family at Christmas. He has the table set and he daydreams about meeting his children and grandchildren. the dream is perfect, till it is cut short by a beep.
The beep is the telephone reminding the old man that he has messages. Messages that all say the same thing. None of his family members can make it. This Christmas passes with the old man eating alone. And the next one, and the next, and the next, they all pass with old man eating at his table alone. Until....
