8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was out shopping at Wal-Mart with her mom Rayne and siblings. A man walked up to them and offered to help them shop and then to buy the family burgers. He took Cherish with him to the McDonald's right outside.

Turns out the man who had walked up to her family was Donald Smith, a registered sex offender who had just been released from prison. And now he had Rayne's daughter.
Tragically, Cherish was found raped and murdered soon after. Surveillance footage shows them at the McDonald's queue, but they're then seen headng out in Smith's white van. Withing 10 hours of the 911 call, Smith was apprehended on I-91.
If convicted, he could be facing the death penalty. The State Attorney's Office released the surveillance video on Wednesday, WJXT reported. They're Cherish's last moments before she met her horrifying fate. Keep reading to watch the video!
