Eric Vekeman, a retired Belgian shop owner was denied permit to build a garage because the city thought it would not look good enough. Eric had had a shop on the ground floor of a building for quite a few years but he wanted to turn the shop as a parking for his car after his retirement.
That was all the old fella had ever wanted and the city wouldn't let him because it wouldn't be "pretty enough". But Eric wasn't one to give up...
