#3 Shopping With Children
For most people going to the grocery store is an annoying errand that they secretly wish they didn't have to do. The hassle of finding a parking spot, getting your groceries, waiting in line, lugging the grocery bags from the car to the kitchen, it's an errand without which all of our lives would just be a lot easier. This errand gets a lot more difficult when you add children to the mix. A child seems to find the grocery store a new place to explore. For them it is a place filled with wonder and something new at every turn.
The grocery store owners made life a lot more easier when they introduced shopping carts with a built-in baby holder. But of course the children soon grow older and are unable to fit into this holder. Which introduces a whole new range of problems. But for one parent, Melody, she faces a whole different kind of problem. Her daughter Beatrice is now almost 3 years old, which means she is now too old to fit into the shopping cart. For any other child this would mean that they get to walk through the store and discover it in a whole new way, but not for Beatrice. Beatrice suffers from cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is considered a neurological disorder caused by a non-progressive brain injury or malformation that occurs while the child's brain is under development. Cerebral palsy primarily affects body movement and muscle coordination. Though cerebral palsy can be defined, having cerebral palsy does not define the person that has the condition.
Just to get some shopping done Melody had to go through a lot of trouble. The manager of the store where she shops saw this and decided to fix this.
