# Running A Business
Business is usually thought of as the easy way out in life, since it doesn't necessarily require education. It seems to us that businessmen get very rich very fast. But what we don't see on the outside is how difficult it is to manage a business. It's like being on call 24x7. One wrong move and you lose everything in an instant.
This certainly wasn't the case for Albuquerque restaurant owner Tim Harris.
# Restaurant Dreams
Tim was just like you, a small town boy except for the fact that he had down syndrome, a genetic disease that causes mental retardation. Tim was differently abled for sure because his ambition was definitely stronger than that of the common man. He had always wanted to own a restaurant when he grew up. But sadly, people never took him seriously because of his impediment. Against all odds, Tim opened his own restaurant - a special place where people got hugs from Tim himself, apart from great food!
Business was going great, he had attracted many regulars and it was only uphill from that point. But something happened and Tom had to close down within 5 years...
# Why Was He Closing Down?
Tim wasn't closing because he was out of business. He wasn't even closing because of health issues as you might have predicted. Business was, in fact, extremely good and the people loved his restaurant. It had a become a local favorite. Tim didn't hate his job either.
Why he closed down was for a totally different reason. We guarantee you wouldn't have guessed this in a thousand guesses!
# He Found Love In A Hopeless Place
Living with mental illness often isn't very easy. It is often the lack of like-minded companionship that is the worst part of it. Not for Tim.
As it turns out, Tim Harris was closing down because he had found love. While giving a speech at a Down Syndrome convention, he met Tiffani Johnson and it was love at first sight. They recently got engaged and are ready to live happily ever after. But in order to do that, he'd have to make a sacrifice.
He would have to close down and move in with Tiffani to her place in Denver. But why? Keep reading to find out.
#2 It Was Heartbreaking For Everyone
All of Tim's customers were taken aback when they heard the news. Tim himself admitted that he'd turn to tears whenever he'd have to leave the business. Nevertheless, everyone was happy for Tim at the same time because we all know how hard it is to find love.
But Tim isn't going to quit the restaurant business forever...
#1 The Future Looks Bright
Tim plans on opening another restaurant in Denver after him and his wife are settled. Because of his past success, I think it's safe to assume that Denver is in for an amazing restaurant.
Tim was always taken lightly when he talked about his ambition but he stood up against the world and made his dream come true.
