#5 Clint Eastwood is a Legend.
Clint Eastwood has been a dominant figure on the silver screen of Hollywood for 60 years now. A man who has portrayed numerous roles and yet managed to keep the role his true self away from the media. Most of it anyway(You know how the media is, nothing is safe from the media after all).
But nothing came easy to our dear Clint and after you read this story of his, you will admire him even more.
Born on May 31, 1930, in San Francisco, California as Clinton "Clint" Eastwood Jr, he was named after his father. He nicknamed "Samson" for weighing 11.59 lbs at birth.
#4 A rough childhood
Clint's parents moved around a lot, which meant Clint did too. And when they finally settled down in Piedmont California, Clint went to the Piedmont Junior High School. He was a hellion of a kid and struggled at school.
He was a multi-talented guy!
A guy who was 6'4 and was athletically and musically talented to be exact. Not to mention extremely handsome. He loved to play the piano and solo sports.

#3 He joined the army.
After completing High School, Clint was drafted in to the United States Army. He was posted as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at Fort Ord in California.
Once on his way to visiting his family and was aboard a Douglas AD-1 bomber when it ran out of gas and crashed in the ocean. But Eastwood survived and swam all the way to the shore.
The incident made him dream of becoming an actor.
And during a service there he met TV actors stationed in Fort Ord, Martin Milner, David Janssen, and Chuck Hill.
#2 Tough luck in Hollywood
The first time Eastwood was scouted, he was surrounded by a lot skepticism. His acting skills were considered as amateurish and without timing. But cameraman Irving Glassberg encouraged him to not to give up. And even arranged for drama classes for Clint.
Clint was good with anger on screen even while being an amateur and ended up making Betty Jane Howarth cry during one improvised scene.
His awkward manners and way of speaking was often criticized. But Eastwood continued undeterred with his acting classes. #1 The tough times were yet to come
Clint got numerous roles and castings. But nothing that would cement his career as an actor. He entered a depression stage even once. And it took all of his strength to continue and look forward while running numerous part time jobs.
But Lady Luck finally smiled.
And at 28, Clint was given the leading part in a Western series, that changed his life forever. And to get there, he had beat out tough competitors who included Kurt Russell's father, Bing Russell. The show was on CBS, and it was called Rawhide.
