#12 1800s Era
Nursing firstly started in Philadelphia in 1700s and later spread throughout the United States. At those times it was not considered as a noble profession rather it was called as a street profession.
#11 1900s Era
Then with the influence of some women like Florence Nightingale people realised that trained nurses are necessary for the proper health facilities. This gave birth to uniforms which was light gowns with white aprons and cloth caps.
#10 1910s Era
In this time many nursing schools were opened and medical technology grew faster. This influenced the nursing dresses also. So designer pockets were added to it.
#9 1920s Era
During the first world war ankle-length dresses came into trend. It was the most ancient form of uniforms that we think today.
#8 1930s Era
The uniforms did not change much in this time. The nurses wore collared white dresses with large fabric caps.
#7 1940s Era
In this era the uniforms were quite fashionable. They resembled the US naval hospital nurses.
#6 1950s Era
In this era the uniforms were very impressive and fashionable. The length of the sKirti and the sleeves were both cut short. The large hats were replaced by the small paper ones.
#5 1960s Era
In the 1960s the uniforms were made simple and the fabric of the uniforms was easy to maintain.
#4 1970s Era
In this time the dress was short skirts with hats. Later the hats were eliminated keeping in view the comfortability.
#3 1980s Era
The basic version of nursing uniforms came into trend in the 1980s. The dress had separate pants and shirts.
#2 1990s Era
In the 90s era different coloured uniforms came it trend. The nurses wore white uniform during the day and blue while assisting the doctors.
#1 Present Time
The doctors and the nurses were the same colour long sleeved shirt. Their uniform also carries fun prints which can bring happiness in the sad hospital rooms.
