We already have the fingerprint and Cortana authentication in our smartphones. But now we take a big step forward as Fujitsu and Microsoft teams up to integrate a palm vein authentication scanner into their Windows 10 Pro computers.
It is already planning it's way into the near future of smart phones, says Digital Trends.
What Does It Do?
So, folks...your so called "classy" iPhone currently uses your face and fingerprint for Face ID and Touch ID to unlock your device. But Fujitsu's palm scanner digs deeper into your skin. Don't panic, we are talking about the vein pattern.
Basically, it is able to read the unique vein pattern, which is not too easy to replicate.
So, How would it work?
It is as simple as waving 'hi' .
Hover your palm over the scanner. Excellent, isn't it? Good news for lazy people! Plus, it may be more secure than Touch ID and Face ID, Digital Trends supposes that the hackers could theoretically get around with fingerprints and photos.
Also, Samsung's Into It.
So, this is gotta be some tech revolution...woah! Samsung filed a patent for similar technology last year. With 3 major differences;
firstly, you take a photo of your hand, then it only reads your palm lines, and it just gives you a password hint. So, it won’t unlock your device. Impressive, but not as secure . *urrghhh*
Still Not Completely secure.
Okay, so before getting too excited for it, keep in mind just a tiny bit of fact that this palm-scanning technology is just a better way to lock your device. It won't protect you from malware.
If you're concerned about viruses, you should just live with your "classy" iPhone instead, it is more secure than Android phones.
