Joseph Chen, 47, a tractor trail driver met with a drastic accident when his truck was blown over the guardrail of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, in Virginia Beach,Virginia. He was driving seafood for Evan Transports over the CBBT when his truck was thrown into the water.

Tom Anderson, the director of CBBT's finance and operations said that Chen's rig went off the southbound span in blustery weather shortly before 12:30 pm, thursday, at the mile marker 15, near the Eastern shore side of the Tunnel.
The CBBT had level 2 restrictions when the winds exceeded 47 mph. It was on level 1 restriction at the time of the accident. When it was on level 2 restriction, tractor trail must be hauling 30,000 pounds in addition to the weight of the vehicle. The CBBT was under level 3 restriction at one point of time on Thursday.
#3 Not The Only One.
This is however not a first reporting of such tractor trail pushed over CBBT. In January, 2016 another driver's rig was blown into water, though he was saved and rescued.

#2 The Tragic Incident!
Mike Maus, Naval Air force Atlantic spokesman confirmed that a Navy crew assigned to Helicopter sea Combat Squadron 2, based at Naval Station Norfolk, was area in and retrieved the driver. He added that they were on a routine training flight, and they saw the wreck. A Coast Guard cutter along with two coast guard helicopters and two other vessels despatched from Portsmouth.
