#5 Who was Ryan Lock
Ryan Lock, a 20-year-old former chef with no prior military experience, left his UK home in August to fight against ISIS alongside Kurdish forces in Syria.
He died in December & it was recently revealed that he killed himself to avoid being taken hostage by ISIS militants.

Sources told the BBC his post-mortem showed a gun wound 'under the chin'.
His family was told about his death on December 23 and his father, Jon Plater, 39, understood that Lock travelled to Syria last August after telling family and friends that he was going to Turkey on holiday.
In a message on Facebook on 31 August, he wrote: “I’m on my way to Rojava. I lied about going to Turkey. I’m sorry I didn’t tell anyone. I love all of you and I will be back in six months.â€

#2 Gruesome Discovery
An examination of the body unlocked a gruesome discovery. Lock apparently took his own life.
By taking his own life, he robbed the enemy of that ability. He also proved his bravery, dying on his own terms instead of allowing the radicals to use him.
