The inside of this fruit is reddish-pink and sometimes purple. It's most commonly referred to as the pink-fleshed apple. It's officially called as the 'Pink Pearl.'
#5 Origins
These unique fruits were first developed in 1944 by a northern California breeder Albert Etter. This California origin fruit is a seedling of 'Surprise', another pink-fleshed apple that is said to be a descendant of Malus niedzwetskyana.

This fruit has a wide variety of taste, ranging from tart to sweet-tart taste. But the sweetness is just perfect that will leave you wanting for more. And the ways it can be used are so much!
#3 Season
Pink Pearl have a short season which usually spans from late August to mid September. So, they are generally harvested in full in the beginning of the fall season and the supplies last till late fall.

The Pink Pearl is named so for the color of their flesh, which is a bright rosy pink sometimes streaked or mottled with white. It can be used in traditional apple pie recipes and the visual treat is absolutely stunning!
