#7 The Excitement

I think the best feeling in this world is when you get the news of becoming a parent. Your entire world changes. The excitement is on the seventh sky.

Same was the situation with McGlathery. Everything was normal while she was just pregnant waiting for the big day. The excitement was so much that she just couldn't wait.

#6 Congenital Arhinia

But on March 4, 2015, Eli Thompson came into the world with one major problem staring his mother in the face. Eli had no nose. This was a one in 197 million possibility.

This condition is of not having a nose is called Congenital Arhinia. Only 47 such cases have been reported so far. Doctors had no clue what to do next. But then, something happened. Everything changed.

Keep reading ahead to see what happened.

#5 Tracheostomy

McGlathery was as clueless as the Doctors and no one had any clue whether the kid will survive or no. The problem here was that the new born baby wouldn't be able to eat and breathe at the same time.

Because of this, he underwent a Tracheostomy where an opening is made in the windpipe to allow breathing. This was just a start of the surgeries he will have to undergo.

#4 The Flurry Of Surgeries

Eli spent weeks in the neonatal intensive-care unit, his mother said, and had to return multiple times due to his condition. It was expected that in every year or two, Eli will have to undergo a surgery.

But then, they met someone just like Eli, and it would completely change this planned trajectory. Something was going to change for good.

#3 3D Printed Nose

They met Tessa Evans who was born in Ireland and was suffering from the same problem. In June of 2015, Tessa was the first child to undergo surgery that would give her a brand new nose.

The surgery was complicated. It would gradually stretch Tessa's skin with a prosthesis to fit a 3D-printed nose where her nose should have been. After all this, the prosthesis will be replaced in every a few years so that her new nose grows with her face.

#2 This Surgery

Eli will undergo this surgery. "After a lengthy conversation, many tears, thanks, & hallelujahs, we FINALLY have a game plan set in place for Eli," McGlathery said.

"In January, just 2 months shy of Eli's first birthday (yes, our baby is already almost 7 months old!), we will travel to London for our first assessment." McGlathery concludes.

#1 The Most Adorable Chicken

This kid keeps proving again and again that not having a nose doesn't mean that you can't have the cutest face in the world. This is the most adorable chicken I've ever seen in the entire universe.

But most importantly, he and Tessa prove that being different doesn't mean you aren't beautiful. Adorable!
