What would you do if you happened to know your neighbor was mistreating their kids? Or that there was some horrible atrocities happening right, next door?
The neighbors of this house in Des Moines, Iowa, shockingly didn't do anything...until it was too late!
#4 THE GIRL!
A house in Des Moines bore the worst shock the city had ever seen. A teenage girl, Natalie Finn, was found dead from a heart attack brought on by starvation. She was lying on a linoleum floor in a bedroom and was wearing an adult diaper.
Covered in feces and urine, the 16-year-old was surrounded by urine-soaked blankets too. Detective Chris Morgan stated in an affidavit, that Finn appeared to have been laying on the floor...in her own waste for some time.
#3 THE PARENTS!
The girls death sparked a huge debate on the parents upbringing capabilities. The girl's 42-year-old mother,Nicole Finn, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the death of her daughter. She was also charged for the treatment of Natalie's 15-year-old brother and 14-year-old sister, both of whom survived but were found to be underweight and covered in bedsores. Another sibling also survived, and all three were adopted.
Finn's ex-husband, Joseph Finn, was also arrested on kidnapping, neglect and child endangerment charges.
#2 THE HOUSE!
Nicole Finn kept her kids under house arrest - much against their wishes and tortured them. She would also sometimes board up the windows to prevent them from escaping. When Child protective workers previously visited the Finns, they thought Natalie was underweight "by choice."
