Masciantonio family
Some things can never be forgotten. Masciantonio is a family who has witnessed this unexpected miracle very closely which is why they can never forget the day their baby daughter met Pope Francis in Philadelphia. A family friend of the Masciantonio, Donny Asper, an FBI agent called the family and made them aware about the visiting, as he was helping with the security for the Pope.

Donny advised them to get downtown quickly and the Masciantonio family didn’t delay to take the opportunity. Donny was really excited and was eagerly waiting for his friends Joey and Kristen to reach there so that their little daughter could meet the Pope.
Devout Catholics
Being devout Catholics, Joey and Kristen were really looking forward to their baby girl, Gianna to meet the Pope. Gianna had a rare blood disorder and a tumor, and her family wanted a miracle to happen. Masciantonio didn’t really think that they would make it as everyone else was visiting, hoping to do the same.

Joey and Kristen were hesitant because their little girl’s immune system was very low and they feared that it would fail more as the crowd increases. But being a mother, Kristen wanted her daughter to be cured and after consulting the doctors, she decided to go to see the Pope.

The Pope was visiting the area called, the historic James S. Byrne Courthouse on Market Street. When the Pope was making way to the family, Joey held Gianna as high up as possible, to get attention. Luckily, a security guard noticed and bought the little girl to the Pope.

And then, it happened. The Pope kissed Gianna’s head. It was a sight that the Masciantonio family would never forget. When they went back to their usual routine, of visiting the doctors for the sake of Gianna’s health, after six weeks when they saw the scan of Gianna’s condition, the entire family were in tears.
God Works in Mysterious ways
Their baby daughter was healing. The tumor had significantly been shrunk and the miracle that the family was waiting to happen, finally did! With the kiss, the Pope insured the baby with the blessing, which led to cure the condition. God really does work in mysterious ways!
