Pierce met the love of his life who was a television writer in Cabo San Lucas in 1994. She is a journalist and they met at a gathering. They were together for 7 years and then finally got married.

The auspicious day was then celebrated in Ireland. They celebrated it at the 785-year-old Ballintubber Convent in District Mayo. They spend quality time with each other which is keeping the love still ripe.
