#4 Mysteries

There are so many mysteries on our planet. Earth is deeply covered by tons of unknown facts. No matter where you look, you'll find something more amusing than the other. Since possibly the beginning of man, we've unwaveringly mused at the existence of other forms of life out in the universe. The vastness of it all - the trillions upon trillions of stars, each making up just one of the billions of galaxies, the size and scope of which are literally unfathomable. And here we are, one tiny planet in one solar system, revolving around one star, in an endless sea of others.

One such amusing fact is about this unknown object that has been orbiting earth for almost 60 years now. In the early 1950's, as the space exploration race between the United States and the Soviet Union brewed, the U.S. made an alarming discovery thanks to NASA. To know this discovery, check out the further pages...

#3 Media

As soon as US made this discovery, Media around the world went mad. What was found was a large unknown satellite rhythmically orbiting the Earth, allegedly broadcasting an unidentifiable signal. This of course, sparked a media outpouring, and officially marked the beginning of widespread speculation of extra-terrestrial life and UFO's as we know it.

US had to come out with an explanation thanks to all the rumors and speculations. The U.S. government released an official statement saying that the object was "just a piece of space debris." Keep in mind, no country at that time, including the U.S, had the ability to launch anything more than small probes into space, which were incredibly small, and often times didn't maintain orbit for very long.

#2 The Black Knight

The story doesn't end here. People still kept overthinking about this. The U.S. government's statement didn't stop anyone from continuing to speculate, and eventually, the object was officially named, "The Black Knight." Now it was time for some research, therefore, NASA took several photographs of black night to analyze its metrics and appearance.

According to NASA experts and astronomer's estimations, the object, based on its size, weighed at least 10 tons. Now this is huge. But there is one problem with this data. As mentioned before, technology in the 1950s was nowhere close to being capable of launching something of such weight into space. So what happened next? Read that on the next page. Take a look...

#1 The Final Conclusion

While the Black Knight hadn't appeared to emit any activity other than its strange and indecipherable signal, something unusual happened in 1963. This incident shook the entire world. During a space exploration flight that year, astronaut Gordon Cooper reported seeing a glowing green object orbiting Earth. He reported the object to NASA and stated that it appeared to be moving towards his capsule. This was a huge breakthrough for NASA. But in the end, the official published explanation for what the astronaut saw was "high levels of carbon dioxide, which caused hallucinations. But what do you think? What was it?
