Numb feet
When she went down she found the little girl and they tried to warm her up. Vida said, "Her feet were numb. I kept saying, 'Does this hurt?' And she couldn't feel me rubbing her feet."
She sneaked out
Both of then called the Worcester Police, immediately and they rushed the little one to the hospital. Later it turned out that the little girl had managed to get out of her Grandmother's house while she was asleep, she sneaked out barefoot and was found in the pile of salt and ice, and was then found by Ashton in the parking lot.
Ashton made his mother proud!
Ashton said, "I don't know how long she was out there, but I'm just definitely thankful, you know, that I was there when I was." It was very kind of Ashton, he was glad that he was there to help the little one. His mother didn't like him working late nights but she was happy that he was the reason the little girl lives.
