#3 Abi's Cafe
One day in the March of 2016, a homeless man walks into Abi's Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota and goes straight to the owner asking for money.
Cesia Abigail is a 20-something owner of the El Salvadorean restaurant and was struggling to keep it open. She was exhausted and overworked when Marcus, the homeless man approached her.
She said to him that nothing ever came easy and asked why he didn't have a job. To which Marcus replied that no one would hire him because of his history of felonies and none of the employers would hire him no matter how much he tried.
Marcus said in order to stay alive, he turned to stealing and panhandling.
What Cesia did next, changed this man's life.
#2 A Hand
When approached by Marcus, Cesia could feel that instant connection with this homeless man.
She didn't have any money on her at that moment but she did need a hand in running the restaurant. And then she made a decision.
"I was short staff that day," Cesia wrote on Facebook. "So I asked him, 'You want to work? I have a job for you!'"
She says right after she said that, Marcus smiled so big and said he'll do anything for food. Cesia said his smile made her day.
And the job you ask?
#1 Two weeks later....
Two weeks later since that fateful day, Marcus was always on time for his two-hour shift. His job? Take out the trash and wash the dishes.
And once he got paid, Marcus went ahead and bought food from the cafe and even paid for it! He said it made him feel good. Awesome right?
Marcus has found a new sense of dignity and respect since that day. One day, Cesia even caught him wrapping up half of his sandwich to give to a homeless woman.
"Do something nice for someone today and don't judge them just because they out there asking for money for we don't know their situation..... some deserve another shot," Cesia writes on Facebook.
"God gave me this blessing so why can't I bless others?"
