#2 For Those Who Protect Our Lives
Have you seen the purple parking spots? They have been popping up all around the country recently. Once you find out what they are for you will be proud of what they represent. These spots are designated to be parking spots for the brave men and women who have fought for our country and were injured in the line of duty.
These individuals put their lives on the line for this country. It's a no-brainer that we would wish for them to have all the help they can get to make the transition back to society easier. Soldiers that return home with injuries are plagued with many problems. Both mental and physical. This is just one of the few things we can do to thank them. #1 A Step Towards A Brighter Future
There are an estimated 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded service members who have transitioned back into civilian life. The Wounded Warriors Family Support Organization was the organization that came up with the idea of 'Combat Wounded Parking Signs'. The spot is a purple heart image with "reserved" written on it as well as the words "combat wounded."
This is a very small way in which we aim to help these people. It cannot even begin to compensate for all the dangers they face in combat, but it is a much needed start that can go a long way in creating a bright future.
