Haley Olsen
Haley Olsen was one of the 7 children in her family, and they couldn't afford everything for their children. They provided their children with whatever they were able to. Now that she was in 7th grade, she understood well, that her family couldn't afford to provide her with clothes like fashion models and so she wore what she got.
Her classmate plotted something
Hayley was used to wearing the hand-me-downs and she was often teased by other girls in the school, which annoyed her. That is when her classmate plotted something, that changed her life forever.
Atkinson Middle School in Phoenix
This made Haley realize that all she needed was a best friend who stood by her side in the ups and downs of her life. When Haley was in Atkinson Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona, it was difficult for her to listen to the taunts that were thrown her way every day. She often broke down in tears.
Mariah befriended Hayley
She said, "I always came home crying and stuff to my parents saying how I didn’t want to go to school anymore, I wanted to be homeschooled." A girl named Mariah Andrew befriended Haley and she realized how hard it was for Haley to survive this. Mariah asked Hayley for the size of clothes and shoes that she wore and she rushed home to put together a surprise for her new friend.

"I was jumping all over the place screaming how happy I was." Mariah's kindness made the other people reach to Hayley to help her. A dental clinic named Sonoran Smile Orthodontics also donated some dental work to Hayley's teeth.

"It made me feel happy at first and the day that I gave it to her, I was trying so hard not to cry." This is indeed the best example of real friendship.
