Mufasa is a mountain lion who has never set foot on a mountain. For 20 years of his life, he has lived as a circus lion with a Peruvian circus. He's lived in the back of a pickup truck, bound in chains all his life. For 20 years he was a captive without ever knowing freedom.

This was Mufasa's home all his life. Pathetic isn't it? It looks so much more like a torture chamber and perhaps it is one- to Mufasa.
How will Mufasa gain his freedom?
#5 Animal Defenders International
Mufasa's saviors came in the form of an animals rights organization called Animal Defenders International, who took it upon themselves to free Mufasa at any cost.
"It was heartbreaking to see Mufasa chained among the circus equipment, living on the back of a pickup truck," said the president of the organization.
#4 Operation Spirit Of Freedom
Mufasa was freed as a part of an international operation called the 'Operation Spirit Of Freedom.' Where the organization travels around the world, disbanding illegal circuses. Peru banned circus animals back in the year 2011.
#3 A Fighter
When the ADI found out about Mufasa and came forth to rescue him, the rescuers said they noticed he had a sort of nervous energy inside him. But he was also severly malnourished and weighed far less than what he should.
#2 Lima
He was taken to Lima, the capital of Peru for some well-deserved care and attention.
"He was torn from the wild and has endured the worst possible life," said a representative.
#1 Freedom
As part of the Operation Spirit Of Freedom over 100 animals around the world have been freed. And Mufasa is now finally back home in the wild in a protected forest.
