But have you ever thought what harm those candles can do to your health ?
Surprised? Read ahead.

#6 Warning Bells!
"I didn't think anything of it, I had them burning probably six or seven hours," said Meghan Budden who, just like any other person, enjoys the fragrance of the scented candles, especially on a holiday.
It was like an ordinary day until she came across something weird.
What was it that she found? Read on to know!

#5 This Is Weird.
One fine day, Meghan found black spots within her nostrils. Without giving much attention to it, she ignored. But her concern grew stronger when she found out those spots in her son's nostril as well.
Explaining the reporter, she said, "I picked up the baby to feed him and noticed that the inside of his nostril - it was all black."

#4 Here's Why..
These candles(and almost all candles) contain paraffin, a waste product from petroleum. When a candle is lighted, the paraffin produces toxins that are equally harmful as the toxins produced by diesel fuel. Also, the wick of the candles is no less. These were made of lead which was banned in 2003.
Apart from checking the ingredients used in your candles, read this safety instruction on the label as well! However, if you're really fond of fragrances, then go ahead and check the best alternative to these candles!

#3 The Natural Way!
If you're so fond of the scent in your room, you can make one all by yourself. Make a potpourri out of baked apples, orange slices, cloves and cinnamon stick. But if you miss the warmth of the candles, you can always use a simmering orange, clove and cinnamon potpourri on a slow cooker.

#2 But Also Remember This!
You may not have enough time and patience to make a home-made fragrance, you may stick to your candles but do not ignore the instructions and ingredients mentioned on the label.
In the next section, we've got an expert's video spreading awareness about the harmful effects of the candles. Go ahead to check the most informative video on candles!

#1 Watch It!!
Experts say, trim the wick of your candle if it exceeds 1/8th of its height from the candle. Your life comes first.
