#3 New Era
Earlier this week, a big revelation was made. Something that will mark the beginning of a new era in the space age. It has been revealed that plans to build Earth's first Space Station was put forth before the UN seeking its approval.
The founders comprising of Vienna's head of the Aerospace International Research Center (AIRC), Igor Ashurbeyli and UNESCO have taken a step forth in mark of a huge milestone for humanity.
The founders are working in close collaboration with numerous scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and legal experts into making 'Asgardia' a reality.

#2 Asgardia
Named after a well-known city in Norse mythology, Asgardia provides everyone on Earth the right to become its citizen. It will function by itself as a sovereign country with its own set of rules and regulations.
Citizens can work, live and be a part of Asgardia as they would be of any other country on Earth. The founders hope to secure the UN's recognition for Asgardia, as a place... free from geopolitical restrictions and a nation of scientific exploration.
And not just a space station but they also want to build a shield!

#1 Protection
The Asgardia's founders have one ultimate goal- to build a shield that will protect Earth and its inhabitants from any sort of natural threat in space.
In their own words- "cosmic, manmade and natural threats....such as space debris, coronal mass ejections, and asteroid collisions." The shield will be Earth's first line of defence when it comes to such threats.
But first, their scientists have to launch a satellite before the end of 2017 to ensure access to space.
