Carlton Champion Jr, was 21 years old and had it all. A bright future, a loving family and friends who cared.
Champion is a Texas College football player, who had the potential to accomplish so much.
But his future is not as bright as it used to be.
Not after he killed a transgender for being born as man.
His girlfriend was 24 years old. Born Tyrone Lee Underwood was going by the name Tyra Underwood.
It is unclear as to how they ended up getting to know each other but it is known they frequently communicated on the social media.
Why murder Tyra? Didn't Champion know before?
#2 Tyra Wouldn't Meet Him
After getting to know each other on the social media, they conversed regularly. It has been said that Carlton had no idea about Tyra being a man before.
On the night of January 25, the two allegedly got into an argument about whether Champion was seeing someone else. After which Tyra said she didn't want to meet him or talk to him anymore.
But Carlton didn't agree.
#1 He said, 'I will make it up'
Carlton arranged for a meet up stating that he would set things straight.
But no one knows what happened next.....
Other than for the final result that the police found a red Toyota Camry off the roadway with a deceased body in the driver's seat.
Tyra's mother, who still refers to Tyra as a man, couldn't believe her loss,"This turned our life upside down. We all said to each other it's going to be a good year. He was living his dreams."
