Erin Hester
It was just another regular day for Erin Hester when she was sitting in a spotlight, but then she noticed a procession passing by. Car after car drove by through the opposite lane, but the car in front of hers was parked and she was wondering what why the guy pulled up.
The Facebook post
But when she found out the reason why it was parked she broke down. The compassionate man, who was the owner of the car that was parked ahead of her. Erin posted on Facebook, "I was so completely touched by this today. A procession was passing by and this soldier got out of his jeep to stand at attention in the pouring rain."
He went above and beyond
Erin continued, "I always get frustrated when I see cars that don't pull to the side and stop for a procession, but this gentleman went above and beyond. I feel pretty confident that there isn't a military rule that soldiers have to do this. This made my heart happy to see the amount of respect that this gentleman showed a family that he doesn't even know."
Inspiration
This inspires us to be kind and humble even in the harshest of times. To walk that extra mile for others and being compassionate and respect everyone. The world would be much better to live in.
Respect and Kindness
In the age of selfishness, this compassionate man showed respect and didn’t mind the rain pouring outside. He inspires not only Soldiers but also commoners like us who don’t really have the inspiration to show kindness to anyone. We cannot be as dedicated as the soldiers but the least we can do is give respect and show kindness.
