'Inside Out' is one of the most popular animated movies of all time. But did you know that initially, it wasn't supposed to be 'Inside Out'?
Tons of other names were considered for the project like 'Joyless, Out of our Mind, Trouble in Mind, Headquarters, Life of Riley, and Down in the Dumps.' Finally the producers went with 'Inside Out'.
#12 Final Emotions
In all, 27 emotions were considered for this project. Ultimately, 5 emotions made the final cut namely Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear. Surprise, Trust and Pride were closest to make it into the final draft.

#11 The Facts
The crew of the film was huge. Tons of psychology experts were involved in the making of the movie. The writers wanted the facts to be perfect.
For example, when Riley's short-term memories created during the day were converted into long-term memories while she slept, this is actually believed to happen in real life. Most of the facts that you saw in the movie are perfectly accurate.
#10 The Leap
Kaitlyn Dias gave the voice for Riley. When she was hired for this part, she was 11 years old. She was 16 by the time the movie was completed and had gone through puberty.
Their were problems during the recording. Her voice had significantly deepened during recording, so she had to adjust the tone herself to make it seem like she was still a child.
#9 A Different Shape
Every emotion in the movie resembled a different shape. Joy is based on a star, Sadness is a teardrop, Anger is a brick, Disgust is broccoli, and Fear is apparently a raw nerve.
#8 A Different Plot
Initially, the plot was entirely different in the movie. Joy was initially supposed to be paired with Fear instead of Sadness.
But one day, one of the writer was having a very sad day. That is when he realized that it was okay for sadness to be at the controls once in a while.

This movie is so amazing that it received an eight minute standing ovation when it first premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

In the entire movie, Joy is the only character that does not have a shadow because she's so bright.
Not many know that disgust was originally suppose to be a male character but the reason it was played by Mindy Kaling is because the makers thought she'd be perfect for the role.

In the US version, Riley does not like Broccoli whereas in the Japanese version of the movie, she doesn't like green peppers. Green peppers are a more disliked vegetable for Japanese children.
#2 Different Sports
In the US version, Riley's Dad is daydreaming about hockey although in the version that was released in UK had Riley's father daydreaming about soccer (football).

It is a confirmed fact now that The Pizza Planet Truck appears three times in the movie. But at the same time, it's really difficult to spot in Riley's long term memories.
