Sterotypical image
Annie Wang is an internationally famous photographer from Taipei City. She was inspired by the relationship of a mother and her child but decided not to work on it because covering the stereotypical image would not really turn good for her.
She said,
“My artistic strategies are based on self-representation. In the world of mothers where everything is hidden, the best way to speak out is through the strategy of self-representation, to express various parts of the self."
As a woman and mother...
She further added, "I, as a woman and a mother, have tried to actively create my own self, instead of being passively interpreted by a male artist, as is traditional.â€
Motherhood
Annie's perception towards motherhood is long and complex journey who's foundation is solely on sacrifice and selflessness. She even compares her work as an artist to motherhood.
Maintaining a relationship
The example being, when she creates something new, she nurtures it though and maintains it as long as it exists. She says, “The Mother is like an artist doing her work while calling upon her own wisdom."
