There are some incidents in your your life that occur to test the strength of your destiny and in the process, they end up becoming immortal. No matter how hard you try but you'll never get an answer to all your'Why's regarding the incident'?
Year 1961 marked one such incident in a small girl's life and shattered her forever. A young girl on the verge of dying was discovered in the water around the Bahamas back In 1961. A freighter spotted the young girl floating on a tiny cork float. Her name was Terry Jo Duperrault. Her story is disturbing.
#4 An Epic Family Trip
Terry Jo and her family were out for a vacation. The vacation wasn't supposed to be a disaster for the family. The trip was supposed to be an epic family outing. But it turned into a huge disaster.
Jo was 11 at that time. The family of 5 set off on their journey, chartering a 60-foot ketch Bluebelle boat which would take off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and would then have them exploring, and enjoying, the beautiful Bahama islands.

#3 That Night
The captain of the ship that this family was traveling in was Julian Harvey. He brought his wife Mary Dene along with him to the ship. The night on 12th November is when everything happened.
"I was awakened by my brother screaming 'Help, daddy, help. It was the type of scream that you know something horrible is happening."
That night, Harvey, the captain of the ship was trying to kill his wife and end his 4 month old marriage for the sake of all the cash he'd get out of the insurance policy he had recently taken out. He planned on reporting it as a sea situation.
#2 All the Killing
Fortunately or unfortunately, Terry Jo's father sae the captain killing his wife. Therefore, the Captain had to kill terry's Dad. The other members of family witnessed the death of Mr. Duperrault. Therefore, Harvey killed them as well. Terry was the only family member who was sleeping in her cabin.
Terry Jo would then emerge a few minutes later. Her mother and brother were lying in a pool of blood. She asked the captain what had happened. But the Captain pushed her away.

Julian Harvey later tried killing Terry Jo as well, as he assumed that she knows the entire incident and if left open, she'll spill the beans. But somehow, Terry escaped. She had to survive in the ocean for 4 days with a hope that someone will spot her safe her.
It was a Greek freighter, Captain Theo, passing through the Northwest Providence Channel and cutting through the Bahamas which would be the savior Terry Jo was hoping for. Despite the fever of 105, the sunburn and severe dehydration, she was still alive as a crew member took a photo of the frail figure floating alone in the enormous ocean waters. This incident garnered a lot of eyeballs.
On the other hand, Harvey realized that Terry is alive and everyone will know the truth now so he committed suicide. Other family members of Terry asked her to not talk about this incident to anyone. It took her 20 years to reveal the truth and now everyone knows about that!
