Popular Internet Slang You Should Know
Most of us use this word daily. Laughing My A** Off! This is saved for those moments when 'haha' or 'LOL' just won't convey the amount of funny you are currently experiencing. In times of serious LOL desperation, one might even resort to ROFLMAO: Rolling on the Floor Laughing My A** Off! Save that one for when you really need it.
Well FTW stands for 'F*** The World'. In short, it's a simple and enthusiastic emphasis to the end of a comment, message or post. From another perspective, it's also a hip term that can make any social media addict feel like a slice of pie, or Charlie Sheen.
For the one's who don't know, BB stands for 'Baby' which is the sort of thing a girl says to a guy when she'd really value their friendship rather than what their car looks like. It's also a weird "abbrev" for a Blackberry btw.
This is one of the most common slang we use. It stands for Ohhh Myyy Gawwwddd!
So we started with LMAO and reached LOL. Other new terms have turned into super popular trends but the most common slang for anyone between the ages of 13 to 55 is LOL, which means "laugh out loud". It's acted as a simple "haha" and since it can imply certain meanings, it is now considered to be an important part of anyone's texting/chatting diction.
Ohhh yes, new words everyday. Meaning, "The Fear Of Missing Out" or "The Joy Of Missing Out", this new age slang was developed by startup entrepreneurs Anil Dash and Caterina Fake. Now it's mostly used by kids who have an addiction to abbreviations and need a guest spot on the reality show "Intervention".
Ok so SHM stands for "shaking my head". Just try not to use it in the wrong context as others could mistake the first letter for "shut" and the other two as something highly offensive and that could instantly end the relationship you have with your new BF/GF.
FTFY stands for 'Fixed That For You', often used sarcastically to imply that someone stated something wrong. I bet, 90% of you didn't know this.
#2 NOOB Or N00B
Ohhhh ya, its new. Whichever way you type it, it still acts as the definition for "newbie", which is a pretty short slang term in itself but it doesn't fully define the need to castrate a video gamer with no clear formula for "kicking dirt in your face". Adding the zeroes just adds another form of punishment.
This is definitely very common. Originating from "by the way", it's a classic short-form that's been used in text messages and Facebook chats since the beginning of time. It'll likely never get overused but that's only if someone invents an emoji for it that includes the initials "B.T.W.".
