Your Guide To Reviving Your Phone After You Drop It In Water
Class 101- Immediately turn off your device, because leaving it on might result in a short circuit.
#9 Soak and Dissemble!
The next thing you need to do is soak your phone, so get lots of paper tissues or a towel and start soaking. Don't forget to remove the battery first! That's very important.
#8 Save the contacts!
One thing to do as soon as you pick your phone out of the water will be to take your SIM card out. This will help in saving your precious contacts.
#7 More dissembling!
Remove every external device like memory cards, earphones, plugs, protective cover and your screen guard as well. This will help the phone dry faster.
#6 Use the vacuum cleaner!
Use a vacuum cleaner to suck the liquid out of the phone. The vacuum cleaner is the fastest method of drying your phone. But bear in mind not to keep the vacuum too close to the phone! Because it causes static electricity which is very bad for your phone.
#5 Do NOT use a hair dryer!
Contrary to popular belief it's very bad to use a hair dryer to dry your phone. Since it pushes the moisture inwards and towards the cervices which might result in the moisture reaching electrical components deep inside your phone.
#4 Placing your phone in a bag full of desiccants or uncooked rice
This is done since it helps in absorbing the moisture more quickly. Desiccants are better suggested here since they absorb moisture more quickly than uncooked rice.
#3 Letting the phone dry naturally
You need to do this by keeping your phone on an absorbent towel, tissue or napkin and letting the phone rest in the sun. Do this after the desiccant step. If you find that there's still moisture in the phone repeat the vacuum and desiccant step.
#2 The moment of truth
Check if your phone is completely dry and then only insert the battery into the phone. Only after you are sure it is clean, switch it on and pray it works.
#1 The last resort
If your phone is working, then consider yourself a lucky person! If not working, take the phone to a service center, which is your last hope.
Here's hoping for the best!
