World Changing Announcements Made By Apple
This is the most iconic announcement ever made in the field of technology. If you were alive during 1984 and saw Apple's commercial, then you probably remember something about the Ridley Scott directed Super Bowl commercial promoting Apple and the new Macintosh computer by portraying IBM as an evil big brother organization. It was a totally different kind of commercial than most of the other standard ones airing along side it and for good reason, it was an announcement that would set into motion a series of events that would change the world forever!
#7 Steve Jobs Fired, Then Brought Back To Apple!
Even today, Steve Jobs is regarded as the father of Apple. Not everyone knows that Steve Jobs didn't always get along with his board of directors and actually was so radical in his thought process that the board booted him to the streets and he formed another computer company NeXT. Of course, they soon realized that it was a huge mistake and successfully negotiated a deal with Jobs to come back and merge his NeXT with Apple.
The release of iPod was seriously really big for that time. Before anyone really knew what an MP3 player was, Apple was working on something magic - the iPod. They changed the game completely producing a new device that could hold 1000 songs in your pocket at a time when most were only holding 10!
#5 The iPhone Launch
And here the revolution began. Not a lot needs to be said about this amazing innovation and the cornerstone of Apple as a company today. The iPhone is believed by many to be the symbol of what a smart phone should be and for good reason. The iPhone was so elegantly designed, so easy to use, and so technologically advanced, that the world fell in love with it!
#4 The Apple App Store
Apple's announcement of its App store was also very iconic. The App store seems like such a simple idea, but before Apple launched it, there was really nothing even close to it, and still even today, others are struggling to keep up with the App Store. It is a huge win for Apple.
#3 MacBook Air
Apple keeps on bringing better. It was a big day when Steve Jobs announced the new MacBook Air! Never before had such a beautiful notebook been constructed for the masses. The MacBook Air really set the standard for others to strive for in terms of laptop design.
Siri was a very huge deal when it got released. Siri was the first real mass scale roll out of a service designed to allow us to talk to our iDevices. Scott Forstall presented this major announcement as Steve Jobs was battling his health conditions at the time.
#1 The iPad is born!
Do you remember the day when the first iPad was released? It introduced a brand new market segment to much of the world that would take off like never before - the tablet done right! The iPad has continued to innovate over the years, and has become an everyday part of many of our lives.
