Now here's something we have always wondered. What would happen when two extremities of nature were to collide against each other? What would happen when the blazing hot met with the icy cold? What would happen when lava meets ice? Luckily for us, scientists wonder the same things that we do. Scientists who aren't afraid to experiment and play with fire, or lava in this case.

"Our first guess about what would happen was that was that the lava was going to explode or tunnel down through ice, melting a hole," says the geologist and Professor Jeff Karson. He was pleasantly surprised when it didn't do either of those things. The video was put up on YouTube by the science channel and it was taken from the TV show 'Outrageous Acts Of Science'.
