Check How This Guy Constructed A Swimming Pool That You're Going To Wish Was Yours
A pool in the summer is as good as a sweater in winter or an umbrella in rains. Who doesn't like to jump in cold water in that heat? Therefore, a private pool is all the everyone dreams about while making a house. Also, Experts say, swimming is the only exercise which helps you in losing weight 3 times more than running or any other fitness technique. So, why not make your own luxury paradise in your backyard, so that with health you also get a calm and soothing environment.
So when Redditor CrackerCortex's dog passed away, he turned to the great outdoors to deal with his grief. He set out to build a concrete koi pond in his backyard. But, when a friend suggested that he should try to make a pool instead of a pond, he started considering the idea. He came up with a design for a pool surrounded by tons of things. Check out the next page to know about these things and the pool..
#3 Pool Design
He came up with a design for a pool surrounded by rocks, complete with a grotto, a kiddie pool for his son, creeks, and more. After a lot of hard work, his pond sized hole became a tropical paradise. But it wasn't easy. A lot of money was required to materialize the plan. He spent about $10,000 on the project, and fellow redditors said if something like this was professionally done, it could cost at least $30,000.
Now that's a lot of money. But the final product was cool. To check out how the pool turned out to be and how he made it, keep reading ahead.
#2 The Steps
Once he was confident to convert his pond idea into a swimming pool, he planned to develop a complete site map for it. He worked on his DIY project over a night and the final plans were embedded with a waterfall, a kiddie pool, the MUCH bigger pool and a small stylish cave as mentioned before.
It was a very simple project and started out very simply. The best part is that he worked himself on the entire plan. He did the digging himself, creating a much bigger hole than planned, and reinforcing it with a retaining wall. Then came Piping an plumbing stuff. After digging and leveling of required space, guy installed piping system, a small suction pump to supply a pool with clean water and in the end he installed a rebar mesh to the bottom of the pool in order to make a solid concrete bottom. #1 The Final Product
Next step was The Shotcrete. The frame of the pool was then covered in shotcrete. Shotcrete almost took three days to dry. Naturally, after the shotcrete dried, it was time to create the rocks with latex and colored concrete. And this is the final product! Ohhh God, even i want a pool like this in my house!
