Ten new features of Samsung Galaxy S5
The body of Samsung S5 can resist water and dust. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is IP67 certified and is resistant to water and dust. well we would definately not use this phone while having a shower be what we would appreciate is the fact that it is capable of resisting quite a few unfortunate accidents and occasional rainy adventures.
#9 Heart rate sensor
Ever wanted your smartphone to help you track your activities and plan your workouts? Samsung claims Galaxy S5 is the first smartphone to come with a built-in hear rate monitor. The monitor is placed at the back of the phone right next to the LED flash and will track the user's heart rate through the index finger.
#8 Fingerprint sensor
We just read about heart rate sensor, now it is the finger print sensor. The iPhone 5S brought the first 'usable' fingerprint sensor to the market. Taking a cue, the Galaxy S5 also includes a fingerprint sensor which it calls Finger Scanner on the phone's Home button. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a huge security disaster.
#7 Kid friendly
Although Window's phone already has this feature but we don't mind using this even in Samsung Galaxy S5. Kid mode lets you decide which apps, games and features are appropriate for your little ones so they stay safe when they get their hands on your phone.
#6 Improved Camera
Smart camera complete's a smartphone. Samsung claims a 0.3-second focus lag, which should eliminate that kind of delay altogether. It also offers slow-motion video recording and Lytro-like re-focus feature. The camera also includes hybrid auto-focus, offering both contrast detection and phase detection, features found in DSLR cameras.
#5 Improved Internet connectivity
Internet is the new emerging basic need of the society. Galaxy S5 supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO, in addition to supporting the large number of LTE frequency with LTE Category 4 standard. The phone also includes a unique feature called Download Booster, that combines Wi-Fi and LTE connections to achieve faster download speeds.
#4 Power Saving mode
Power backup is one of the most important factors in the mind of a buyer while purchasing a cell phone. The screen goes black-and-white only, and all non-essential apps and services are killed, allowing the last 10 percent of your battery to power your phone through an incredible 24 hours. You can remain accessible via calls and text messages, which is what you need most in an emergency.
Here's another appreciatable feature in this smartphone. Galaxy S5 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest iteration of the mobile OS. The phone includes a new version of TouchWiz, Samsung's UI layer featuring flatter design elements.
#2 Private mode
This is again a very sizable feature that one would love to have in his/her phone. The new Samsung Galaxy S5 will let you stash photos, videos and files securely so that you don't have to worry about personal information such as IDs and bank documents falling into the wrong hands. Only when you swipe your own finger over the fingerprint reader will they be accessible. While that is indeed an impressive list of features, but there is one thing we dislike about the new S5. Samsung describes its body as "glam", "modern" and "iconic", but all we see is plastic, plastic and plastic.
#1 Showering of gifts
Although the news is not confirmed but it seems as though owners of a Galaxy S5 will receive a few bonus features and priveliges from major app makers including LinkedIn, PayPal, Evernote, Box, and the Wall Street Journal. Lets just wait and watch!!!
