Because Of One Facebook Post, This Family Lost Everything They Owned

This is so unbelievable.

Facebook has become a part of our daily lives. Everyone uses it, it's not just something that the cool kids do anymore. Everyone and their grandfather is on Facebook.

Because everyone we know is on Facebook we are lulled into a false sense of security. But we forget that not everyone we meet online can be trusted. This couple learnt that lesson the hard way.

In situations like this it is necessary to keep this woman in mind. This is Becky Szenk, 22, and fiancé Mark Higgins, 28, from Walsall, West Midlands with their seven-month-old baby Ariyah.

They recently made a decision to move closer to Mark's place of work. But they found it difficult to find someone to help them move. Until a friend suggested a Facebook page.

The page was run by a man named Lee Green. They checked out the website with brilliant reviews and everything. Everything checked out on the digital front. They set a date by call and it was all decided.

The day arrived and that's when it got interesting. Mark and Becky were quite impressed with how quickly and efficiently Lee Green's movers worked, and within a matter of 45 minutes, they had packed their truck with all of the couple's belongings.

When Mark and Becky commented on how fast they completed the job, one of the movers explained that their day was filled with other jobs that they had to get to. The penny finally dropped when Ms Szenk came over about an hour later to the new property the drive was a mere 20 minutes and the movers had a 40 minute head-start.

"I must have tried (phoning) about 20 times at least. The phone just kept going through to voicemail... now when I try, it just cuts off totally." Said the wife. "I have never cried more in my life than I did on Friday afternoon - I am so distraught that they have taken my engagement ring and my baby's toys."

The couple, who had just recently opened up their own pub called the Horse And Jockey, were hoping to turn their new business into a success. However, after being left with nothing, they have been forced to rely on the donations of others to try and get their life back. Though the couple appreciates all the help they've received from complete strangers, they still can't replace the sentimental belongings that have been taken, such as their engagement rings.

Becky added: "We were in our new home on Friday night, but it wasn't a home, it was four walls. We didn't even have a blanket to sleep under."

But once everything is said and done, Mark and Becky walked away learning a very valuable lesson. The internet can be a scary place, and things that may seem completely safe are often quite the opposite. Becky tried her best to find the most reliable moving service, and in the end, this resulted in the young family losing everything they owned.

This is a lesson that we all hope not everyone has to experience personally to learn. Share this story to prevent such a thing from happening to a friend or loved one.
