11 Creative And Hilarious Divorce Ads

Divorce happens - and when it does, these guys are eagerly waiting for you. And they're just as creative in court as they are in advertising.

#11 That Old Crow!

#11 That Old Crow!

This collection of law firm ads is not full of the regular boring suit wearing, book bearing typical law firm ad. These guys take creative advertising to a whole new level.

The worst part about a marriage, and most spouses will agree on this, is the mother-in-law. That woman is absolutely impossible. She doesn't like the way you treat her baby, she doesn't like your food, she doesn't like you paycheck, she doesn't like your face - but she has to put up with it since you're the chosen one.

This ad appeared in 2008's Atlanta magazine and brought Davis & Millard quite a bit of business! This is just the beginning. The ads coming up net are outrageously hilarious, so you should probably control your laughter if you're at the office.

#10 Splitting Assets

#10 Splitting Assets

Divorce is hard on your assets, and it's going to be for a while thanks to alimony laws. Everything you guys acquired as a married couple has now got to be split equally. Of course that raises the question of child custody. The guys at Green & Co know just how heated up these lawsuits can get and they're using cuteness to get to you! I am totally in favour of this cuteness!

#9 Life Is Short, Get A Divorce

#9 Life Is Short, Get A Divorce

This is the kind of blunt, in-your-face advertising that puts you in the crosshairs of half the legal communtiy. And guess what else it does? It's very good for business! Not only is it hard to forget but it also provokes prospective cheaters to go ahead and cross the line - which means more business!

Corri Fetman from Fetman, Garland & Associates, Ltd. said, "Law firm advertising is boring. Everything's always the same. It's lawyers in libraries with a suit on and the law books behind them. They don't say anything. What, I should hire you because you have a law degree? C'mon. So we wanted to try something different."

It also got them a lot of flak from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers calling it "grotesque" and "undignified."

#8 What A Ride

#8 What A Ride

These guys absolutely nailed it. The elevator doors of this corporate building are affixed with a typical wedding picture. Everytime the doors open, the couple inevitable splits up and "goes their own way." After you step inside the life with your mind contemplating your marriage, you're indicated to the office of the divorce lawyer. Totally exploiting symbolism here. Sabina Stobrawe, you have won my respect.

Lawyers are so full of wit and clever because that's what floats their boat. Keep reading to have a dig at more crazy divorce ads!

#7 The Divorce Condom

#7 The Divorce Condom

In what has got to be one of the most clever ads I have ever seen in my entire life, condoms were packaged inside business cards. If you think that's smart, wait till you find out how the condom distribution was regulated.

These condoms were distributed only to motels where people having affairs were most likely to get together for coitus. This condom is a brilliant nudge, because these guys would be very soon needing a divorce lawyer.

#6 Banned!

I can't attest to this guy's skills as a lawyer but if he worked at an advertising agency, he'd be making them millions. This ad was so controversial it had to be removed! And it was placed with a title that suggested it was the 'ideal honeymoon' - something a prospective divorcee would definitely search for on the internet.

Just kidding. Don't be fooled by the message that says the video has been removed, just keep watching and keep reading for more hilarious ads!

#5 Chopsticks

Guerrilla marketing at its best here. Going out for a lovely Asian dinner with your wifey? We sure hope you landed in this restaurant because the chopsticks there are very informative. It took me more than just one glance to get the joke on this one.

#4 Boom!

#4 Boom!

Master Comunicacao advertising agency in Brazil came up with this bomb of an advertisement back in July 2001. Marriage is just a grenade waiting to explode they said. And these lawyers specialize in putting out divorce fires!

I totally love symbolic ads. They make you think before you laugh and that's what the next few ads are going to make you do.

#3 One For You, One For Me!

#3 One For You, One For Me!

Best. Businesscard. EVER. You nailed it James. This business card is so simple yet effective. Tear it up for you and you soon-to-be-ex to get the smartest counsel ever.

I bet this is what marriage counselors give couples after they lost hope. Bright side - it saves paper too!

#2 Jump Into It

Man Brazilians can sure make good ads. Here's another one from Longplay 360 advertising agency for the brand Hot Park in Brazil. It was released quite recently in June 2012. Are you going to take the plunge? It promises to be as relaxing as a swim in the pool! For obvious reasons, hah!

#1 Ring Or No Ring?

Here's Dr. Alfred Kriegler, the lawyer behind the naked snapshots, showing you the finger, telling you to do the right thing.
