7 Employees Share The Moment A Horrible Customer Caused Them To Finally Snap.
My mom owns a dry cleaners, one day one of her customers got mad on her because she said we misplaced her clothing. My mom tried to explain her calmly and told her that someone just picked up her clothing and paid for it. But, she was going on and on, and I lost my temper and told the lady to f**k off and get the hell out.
I had never cursed anyone like this before, but that lady pissed me and I cannot watch her yelling at my mom who worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. She then warned me to watch myself because she knew people who would get my "chink" ass.
#6 The customer is not always right.
I work as a supervisor at a pet store. One day a girl came in front of me crying, I asked her "What's wrong?" She told me that, A man in the dog food section argued with her about something that she was absolutely right. She was trying to help that man.
So I went and checked, the girl also followed me. While I was talking to that man, he goes off on me about the girl that was just back there and how useless she was.
I was listening to him and suddenly he went out of line and said "Haven't you heard the phrase the customer is always right?" line. So I give him a flat look and respond with "Yeah, and in this case he's also a horse's ass." After this he started yelling and said he wants to speak to the manager and complain about my behavior. I gave a look and said "I am the manager." and if you want you can give us the feedback, but you need to leave right now.
#5 Breaking the rule.
I work at "high end" hippy store. One day a lady came in along with her dog, despite the malls "No Dogs Policy." I told her "Ma'am dogs are not allowed here." But, she said she knew someone at corporate. So, I let her go along with her dog.
As soon as the dog entered the mall, he pisses on the floor. The lady looked at me with "Well?" look, and was expecting me to rush over and wipe it up. So, I just gave her some paper towels and went back to my work.
#4 Screw retail. Never doing that again.
When I was in college I worked in retail. Once a customer came at my counter, he had a large chocolate bar. I scanned it, and he started to yell, telling me that the price was wrong. But, I knew the price wasn't wrong, because I myself have bought this chocolate bar many times before. So he took me to the shelf and pointed out the price tag. I told him its a wrong price tag, it was for regular size and not large.
He got more mad at me and asked me "are you f***ing blind?" I responded with "yes actually, I'm blind in one eye, but I can still see that this price tag is for a regular size bar, and not large. And told him to look at those small letters below the price. He then got calm and turend nice and bought me a chocolate bar.
#3 You should be responsible for taking care of your own things.
I worked at a PartyCity in Minnesota, one night I was working the register. A lady comes in with few items in her hand. She stared at her phone, pays and leaves.
After few minutes, she came back looking for her phone, I told her I haven't seen her phone and I am sure she walked out with it. So she went out and came back again and said she is not able to find it.
She then proceeds to accuse me of stealing it, and demanded to turn out my pockets also she wanted to check behind the register to make sure I hadn't hidden it.
The manager told me to do as the lady says. After they also went to check my locker in the back store and then checked my car. But, they didn't found any thing. I was very angry but, I kept my calm and told them I had no need for a phone that was better because mine works just fine.
#2 Making her feel guilty.
I work as a cashier at the express lane in a grocery store, the express lane which was 15 items of fewer. One day a lady came in with more than 15 items, so I told her politely its express. She told me its just 17 items, only a bit over. As we are not allowed to argue more or fight with our customers I kept my calm. So I angrily scanned her items and at the end when I saw my register it turned around 34 items!
I was annoyed but somehow I was still keeping my calm. So to tell her the total I put on my biggest retail smile and said in my best overly perky sarcastic voice, "Your THIRTY-FOUR items will come to a grand total of $112.34."
She was frustrated and walked away without saying a word.

I offered a a pantomime, a store card to a very minor celebrity in the UK, who was in town and he responded "I don't need 5% off, I could pay you for 10 years, Don't you know who I am?" I lied to him saying "Not a clue." Then I called my boss, and asked him whether he knows him. He said "Sorry no. Should I?" Then I asked a customer standing behind him who said no.
Then he said "Don't you know Sam Kane? Brookside? Coronanation Street?!" and we all replied "Nope, still don't know you." And then I again asked him do you want to take advantage of the 5% discount? It means you save £3.55..." He walked out. It was a good day.
