This Baby Was Born With Her Organs Outside Her Body And Her Struggle Is Inspiring!
When Clare and Dane Rowe of Australia went in for their 12- week ultrasound, they were positive it was going to be good news. Afterall they had been trying for almost a year and success had only struck them now!
But they were heartbroken when they got to know that their baby wasn't compatible for life. In an interview to Daily Mail Australia, Clare said, "I'm not one to play God but knowing she would have birth defects didn't make me love her any less."
#6 The Delivery!
Clare and Dane always knew their battle was going to be tougher than the rest out there and they were prepared. So when Clare gave birth to the beautiful baby Azalea on July 28, 2016, 'elated' was a word short of expression!
But the baby had more issues that they had expected!
#5 The Problems!
Baby Azalea was born with a rare health issue called Omphalocele. As a result of her abdominal muscles being under developed, parts of her stomach, bowel, gall bladder, and her liver were contained in the umbilical cord outside of her body.
If this wasn't enough the parents weren't allowed to touch the child for atleast 4 days after birth, let alone feed her. This was because the external organs of the baby, were covered by a very delicate membrane that stood at a chance of tearing if tampered with!

#4 The Struggle Continues!
Baby Azalea had to lay on her back for more than four months so that she could heal better. Many of her nutrients needed to be delivered directly into her stomach as feeding was not allowed.
After nine long weeks in Intensive Care, Baby Azalea and mum Clare returned home healthy. Now, it was the parents who had to care intensively for the kid!
So along with regular infant care, Azalea's parents had to ensure the sac was well cared for too - dressing et all. Only after all this were they allowed to finally make skin-to-skin contact with their baby!
#3 ...And Finally!
Baby Azalea's struggle is heart wrenching, but very inspirational. For an infant to have gone through such ordeals is nothing less than super power!
Now, at home, she is developing at a normal rate. Clare, in the interview, said, "Every time I see her do something new I want to take her back to the hospital and say 'Look! She is compatible with life',"
#2 What's In Store?
Baby Azalea's life has just begun.Pictures of the child reveal that she is truly happy!
Overtime, her organs will be enclosed within her body as well and she will be put into a secondary surgery at the age of two, to ensure that all her organs are in perfect working condition!
#1 Well Done, Rowes!
Clare also revealed in her interview that she plans to tell her daughter's incredible story to raise awareness for World Omphalocele Awareness Day on January 31!
Well, what can we say other than Kudos to the family for sticking by so strong!
Isn't she the cutest?
