7 Incidents When Students Touched The Hearts Of Their Teachers Through Their Actions
The teacher took an extra week off after New Years to bury his father. On his first day back, a student came up to him and said, "Sir, I'm sorry about your Dad." The teacher was surprised at the heartwarming gesture. The teacher later saw the boy across the hallway and realized he had come in early just to offer his condolences. Years later, when the boy graduated, the teacher reminded him of the incident with fondness.
#6 A Sweet Gesture
So this math teacher in the middle of teaching a fourth grade class gets a papercut while turning a page in the textbook. She instinctively cried out 'ouch' and spent a few seconds looking at her cut. But when she looked up there was a little guy standing beside her with a band aid. Hands down the sweetest gesture ever according to her.
#5 The Sort Of Conversation That's Honest
It's commonly known that students most often tend to keep teachers at a distance, avoid trouble and get on with their lessons. This teacher says "For me it's as simple as a student having an honest conversation with me. It's nice when a student will stop by your office just to talk or to ask advice on something."
#4 The Children Are The Best
This teacher happened to have a autistic child in her class with whom she sort of developed a tradition. Where every lunch she would pretend to grab one of his cookies and the boy would grab them. When she asked for a cookie, he would say no and smile.
But it so happened that on the day of Teacher Appreciation Week, the boy began to panic and have a meltdown because he forgot to bring the teacher something. The teacher told him it was alright. "I kept reassuring him that it was ok, but he continued deeper into a "meltdown." Until he ran to his lunchbox and pulled out a cookie and gave it to me. I wish I could have kept that cookie forever."
#3 A Simple Conversation
This teacher says it's nice when students treat teachers as humans and approach them normally. Like this one instance when he and a student were heading in the same direction after class,"It wasn't anything huge or remarkable, but it always brightens my day when my students are friendly and comfortable talking to me outside of class."
#2 A Necklace
What this teacher says will melt your heart..." I work at a learning center. A kid came up to me the one day, hugged me, told they loved me, and gave me a necklace with those little plastic letter beads on it spelt out my name." She treasures that necklace even today.
#1 The Best
How can any teacher not be overwhelmed when they hear this sentence from a student,"Yours is the only class I've ever wanted to wake up early for."
