7 Big Differences To Be Aware of When Visiting The UK
In most of the places when someone wishes to use the bathroom, they literally have a sense of any room with toilet in it. But the Brits need to have an actual bathtub and at the least, a shower, else it is just another loo.
Hot and Cold-water faucets
No matter how much the technology has advanced, the Brits are quite reluctant to use one faucet with adjustable temperatures and often prefer two different faucets where one might have scorching hot water and another freezing cold water.
Most of the washrooms have a ceiling high light bulb with a cord dangling from the electrics with light switches.
In the UK, the basements are purely functional and house things like pop up meter, water system, etc. You cannot plan anything fun because these basements are damp, cramped and outright creepy.
Top up utilities
The Brits do not make monthly bill payments, but rather go with doing top-ups like for a prepaid cell-phone. And they use the utilities on the way.
Garages are replaced by Sheds
Other than most of the places where the garage is often attached to the house, in UK people have shed in the garden where they keep the utilities pertaining to the car services and etc.
No air conditioning
As scary as it might seem to someone from the hotter places, UK generally has a moderate climate and other than the supermarkets and malls, air conditioning at houses is a rare sight.
