The water was so cold that when Kate first entered into water she gave her genuine reaction to the frigid ocean.

In the real disaster of Titanic, a Passenger Hilda Maria Hellstrom, who was the 3rd class passenger sneak up to first class out of curiosity and never got caught. This same incident was played by Jack who did the same thing in the movie.

James Cameron did not want to include any song in the film, not even at the time of closing credit scene. But the music composers and the song writer secretly wrote "My Heart Will Go On" and showed a demo version of the song to Cameron, he liked the song and included it in the closing credits.
The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
#6 Film without nuclear weapons.
Titanic was the 10th film that James Cameron directed, but it is only the first that didn't include the use or mention of nuclear weapons.
The scene in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Jason Barry pull up a bench in third class and use it to smash a gate open, they both injured themselves. DiCaprio threw out a shoulder, and Barry caught himself in the chin with the bench.
When James Cameron dived in to see the real Titanic he was very much overwhelmed when he saw it. He ended up spending more time with the ship than its living passengers did.

The person who played the role of Lewis Bodine in the movie, was actually Cameron's friend Lewis Abernathy. Cameron wrote the role of Lewis Bodine by keeping this friend in his mind. When Cameron did not find a perfect person for this role he asked his friend Lewis Abernathy to play the role by himself, Abernathy accept the role by saying "If you want to f*** up your movie by casting me, buddy, alright."

Did you see those photos which the old Rose has on her dresser? Those photos shows things Jack said she would do with her life, like riding a horse astride rather than side-saddle.
#1 The freezing love.
In the scene where Jack and Rose both shivering in the water, Rose says 'I love you', to jack. But Jack didn't say 'I love you too', but instead he mentions what he loves about her.
